Japan will invest about $5.2 billion in the construction of semiconductor manufacturing plants

Japan will invest about $5.2 billion in the construction of semiconductor manufacturing plants

Investments in the construction of factories producing semiconductors in Japan are provided for by an additional package of the state budget for this fiscal year in the amount of about 600 billion yen. For example, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing will receive 400 billion yen under this program for the construction of an enterprise on Japanese territory. It also provides for the investment of other companies creating similar enterprises in Japan. Among them are the American corporation Micron Technology and the Japanese firm Kioxia Holding. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said last month that semiconductor manufacturers can count on government financial support. This area of production is very important against the background of the ongoing global shortage of semiconductor products, the losses from which are borne by manufacturers of cars, smartphones and household appliances. The Taiwanese company Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing intends to begin construction of a plant in Japan next year, planning to launch production at it in 2024.

Investing in LEGO: how much can you earn on the constructor?
Investing in LEGO: how much can you earn on the constructor? Today we return to the topic of alternative investments without tickers, mobile applications and stock cups.Today we will talk about LEGO, and more specifically - about its famous designers. The brand itself and the first logo appeared in 1934. The name is the result of the addition of two words: leg godt, which are translated from Danish as "play well".The company's products were of high quality from the very beginning, and a little later the idea of automatic blocks was added, which made it possible to build a wide variety of structures. The cherry on the cake is humanoid figures. Thanks to these simple findings, the success of the company was ensured. Today, LEGO consists of hundreds of sets of different universes and worlds with thousands of characters.Tens of percent on plastic parts? The range of LEGO sets is very wide. Some of them go out of sale sometimes too quickly. Rare sets are most desirable among connoisseurs who are willing to pay significantly more than the original cost. The main thing to understand is that only limited editions have investment attractiveness. It turns out that LEGO is an asset for long-term investors. As a guideline, we can consider a yield of 8% per annum, taking into account inflation, which is a fairly good result. Also, LEGO sets are not affected by market risk factors, cost, and volatility. However, a lot depends on the size of the asset. However, 8% is far from the limit. The series withdrawn from sales for the first year can bring 20% profit. The most profitable sets are most often based on movies and books:Star Wars, Batman, Harry Potter.

Chevron to increase buy back program in 2022
Chevron to increase buy back program in 2022 The American oil and gas giant Chevron (CVX) will increase the volume of share repurchases in 2022 to $3-5 billion compared to the previous forecast of $2-3 billion, which will support the company's quotes.CVX also provided estimates on the volume of capital and exploration expenditures in the next year. The costs may amount to $15 billion - this is the lower limit of the previously predicted range of $15 - $17 billion. Nevertheless, even this figure is 20% higher than the expected volume of these expenditures in 2021.The rhetoric and management plans, in our opinion, indicate that the company's priority for the coming years will be to return funds to shareholders and maintain a low debt burden. At the end of the third quarter, Chevron reduced net debt by $7.4 billion (19%) to $31.3 billion. According to our estimates, the reduction of financial leverage will allow the company to reduce interest payments by $350-400 million in 2022.This year, the company increased its quarterly dividend by 3.9%, to $1.34 per paper. In our opinion, reducing the debt burden and increasing the share repurchase will allow Chevron to continue increasing dividend payments in 2022. As a result, we raise the forecast price for the company's shares by 6.2%, to $118.2.

Emerging market stocks continued to rise
Emerging market stocks continued to rise Growth after a decline due to the emergence of a new strain of delta "Omicron" on Thursday showed emerging market stocks. Shares of Turkish companies rose by 1.2%. The strengthened dollar and the Japanese yen were in particular demand among traders due to increased concerns about the negative impact of the omicron strain on the global economy. Against this background, the emerging markets MSCI currency index fell by 0.1%. The maximum decline was again shown by the Turkish national currency, reacting to the new appointment of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan to the post of Finance Minister after the dismissal of Lutfi Elvan, who adhered to the traditional direction in monetary policy. This event reduced the lira by 1.3% to 13.40 per dollar. Since January of this year, Turkey's national currency has lost 47%. The exchange rate of the South African rand rose by 1.4% to 15.83 per dollar.

Oil prices rise after the end of the OPEC+2 meeting
Oil prices rise after the end of the OPEC+2 meeting Oil is getting more expensive on Friday morning. By 8.25 GMT, the price of a barrel of Brent oil rose to 70 dollars 89 cents, or 1.75%. The price of a barrel of WTI oil rose to 67 dollars 71 cents or 1.22%. According to the results of trading on Thursday, these oil standards rose by 1.2% and 1.4%, respectively. Investors evaluate the results of the last meeting of the countries participating in the OPEC+ agreement. Some market participants expected that the alliance would decide to reduce the volume of oil production. However, OPEC+ retained the current parameters of the deal. This means that the alliance will continue to increase the volume of raw material production by 400,000 b/s every month. At the same time, the participants of the meeting stated that they could make a different decision on the volume of production at any time. Everything will depend on the situation on the oil market and in the global economy. They noted the persistence of uncertainty. It intensified after the appearance of the next coronavirus strain omicron. Investors liked the alliance's statement about the possible holding of an extraordinary meeting, if the situation requires it.

Farfetch: patient investors will be rewarded in full
Farfetch: patient investors will be rewarded in full Farfetch shares are trading 46% below the levels of the beginning of 2021. Stock indexes are holding at maximum levels, but this is due to large-cap companies, which are perceived by investors as safe havens, while small firms are in the correction stage. Luxury marketplace Farfetch was no exception. At current levels, FTCH securities look even more attractive.Consumers of luxury brands are getting younger and prefer to buy goods online. Farfetch managed to occupy its niche in the market and even the Amazon giant failed to take it away. Moreover, even Alibaba decided to cooperate with the marketplace, rather than create its own analogue. The annual revenue of the industry is estimated at $300 billion dollars, of which a third falls on China, whose residents have access to Farfetch products through the Tmall platform. In addition, the company is expanding into the children's clothing market, so no slowdown in growth is expected in the foreseeable future. As for finances, things are starting to get noticeably better. This year, Farfetch continued to reduce the costs of marketing and discount promotions, which made the business much more profitable. In the last quarter, the company managed to obtain positive EBITDA margin values for the first time: 1% versus -3% a year earlier. The average size of orders increased from $574 to $593, both due to the fact that goods are now sold at full cost, and due to inflation.

Roblox: Bears are shamed, but the growth potential is limited
Roblox: Bears are shamed, but the growth potential is limited In 2021, Roblox shares rose by 80%. The paper received an additional boost for growth after the publication of the financial report for the third quarter: after the release, quotations soared by more than 40%. This was mainly due to the large-scale closure of short positions by the "bears", whose expectations were dashed by reality — there was no sharp drop in the popularity of the game due to the mitigation of quarantine measures.Revenue increased by 28.6% YoY to $638 million. Gross margin reached 75%, while operating margin decreased from 28.6% to 13%. And here is the reason for the short squeeze - the size of invoices issued in October increased by 15-16% compared to last year, and the early November figures showed no signs of slowing down. The increased interest in Roblox was promoted by the series "The Squid Game": a large number of analogs of tests from the popular show appeared on the platform.Recall that anyone can create their own games inside the platform, and developers whose creations are in demand can earn good money thanks to the monetization system. This approach allows Roblox to always be in the trend. According to the latest report, the number of developers is 10.5 million. This was achieved thanks to the creation of the most comfortable conditions: people can create their own worlds, while Roblox will provide them with everything they need.At current levels, it is quite risky to acquire RBLX shares, but in the case of a significant correction, their attractiveness will significantly increase.

Visa: A great moment for conservative investors
Visa: A great moment for conservative investors Visa shares are trading 20% below the maximum level and near the marks of the beginning of 2021. Securities of this caliber are extremely difficult to catch at the "right" moment, since they are traded at inflated prices most of the time, but now they come with a pleasant discount. The correction is mainly observed due to the rotation of capital from growth stocks to value stocks, but there are other reasons. British Amazon will stop accepting Visa credit cards due to high costs. At the same time, the service will continue to accept debit cards. Apparently, this was done to send a signal to the European Union and encourage it to keep the commission's interchain at the current levels: 0.2% on debit and 0.3% on credit cards. The former EU member has the third largest online market, second only to the United States and China. Amazon's share of it exceeds 30%: in 2020, sales amounted to $26.5 billion, of which 60% came through Visa, but only 30% directly through the service's credit cards. At first glance, it sounds serious, but according to Morgan Stanley estimates, Amazon UK accounts for only about 0.10% of all Visa transactions, which means that the decision of the trading platform is unlikely to significantly affect the revenue of the payment giant.Visa's revenues are still increasing by 17-19%, while next year Wall Street expects a figure of 20%. This is more than enough to make the consensus forecast of analysts expecting V near $273 next year come true.
