BITCOIN HAS A DEVASTATING IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT
Bank Of America conducted a research of the impact of bitcoin on the state of the Earth's ecology. He outlined the results in an article called " Bitcoin's Dirty Little Secrets." In particular, it says that the mining of cryptocurrencies, as well as operations with bitcoin, caused the annual release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere of our planet in the amount of 60 million tons. Harmful emissions from 1.2 million cars correspond to the negative consequences of investing in bitcoin in the amount of $1 billion. Bank Of America experts believe that bitcoin as a money saving and means of payment can not be considered as an effective financial instrument. It is not linked to inflation, and at the same time has high volatility. According to the bank's experts, this cryptocurrency can only be used to earn money on the growing exchange rate. They also reported that currently 95% of bitcoins are in a small number of wallets. Their share is approximately 2.4%.
